                        FDR DEMOCRATS
                        [by Anonymous]

I would say the DLC has not done enough to help the national Democratic Party. It was after all the elitist Kennedy crowd that took down President Carter. God do we have to mention the fact of Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry as all being liberal elites, and I used to . . . not count Gore as one, but if a man can't win his own home state he has big problems. John Kerry; I don't think deserves any comment; [if] you can't beat GWB then you aren't worth a hill of beans.

For the last 30 years or so, the Democratic Party has forgot[ten] its roots; of working middle class people. To help the poor, and keep a strong national defense, it's called FDR politics.

If it weren't for moderate common sense Democrats like Jim Hunt, North Carolina would have been in the same boat with other southern states; Republican. Think about it, only one Democrat has been twice elected since the great FDR, BILL CLINTON, a moderate southern Governor, he got things done, not maybe enough for the neo-liberals, but for FDR liberals like myself he did plenty good. Let's keep nominating the neo-liberals who think they are better than the middle class working person, we will continue to lose, and the country pay's the price.

                        WHICH POLL?

[by
John Polifrono]

Junkie:  Last week, TPJ featured two polls; one showing Obama leading Hillary nationally by one point and one touting that Obama led Hillary by 19 points.  We asked, rhetorically, which poll is correct.  Polifrono responds.

_____

In your piece, where you compare Hillary and Obama, you mention two polls, one showing Clinton leading Obama by 1 point, and a Time mag poll showing Obama leading Hillary by 19 points!  Then, you ask which of these polls should we believe?  I would take the later Pennsylvania primary as fairly clear evidence of which poll we ought to believe.

Pennsylvania is the largest of the remaining States that would reveal its preference in the primaries, and Clinton won Penn. by approx. 10 points.  Ask yourself if it's likely that there would have been a 19 point preference for Obama as Time suggested, a few days before Hillary trounced Obama by 10 points in a State as large and representative of the country, as the State of Pennsylvania, taken as a whole?

Why are huge publications, such as Time, seeking to deceive the public in such a manner?
