ARE THE CLINTONS DEMOCRATS?

It has been a while, so I'm hoping you can suffer one more rant. 

My title is not a rhetorical question along the lines of "Is the pope Catholic?" Lamentably, it is a serious question, prompted by the Clintons' recent behavior and the company they have been keeping. 

Yes, I'm angry about politics again (make that still), sick of it, really; but I can't curb the addiction, at least not until November. It's much more than anger, though -- I'm dismayed and disappointed that the Democrats, who seemed a virtual lock to sweep the elections this fall, may once again have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, this time because of the Clintons' insatiable, stop-at-nothing lust for power. I don't see any way to spin any of this to Hillary Clinton's advantage. She has damaged Obama, to be sure, perhaps fatally; but it has also been fatal to her. What happens next? I dunno. I do know that what recently looked quite promising has now been sullied, possibly beyond repair. The Democratic Party has a big problem on its hands, and however it turns out will be much worse than it should have been. 

When the Democratic primaries started, I favored John Edwards. After his campaign failed to gain traction and he dropped out of the race, I concluded for several reasons that Barack Obama would make the best candidate in what might very well be a make-or-break election for the preservation of Constitutional rule of law in the U.S. In case anyone should think I am exaggerating, I remind them that the next president gets to appoint one or more Supreme Court justices. Any Democrat who is not deeply concerned about that prospect is either a crypto-Republican à la Joe Lieberman or has not been paying attention to the ominous drift towards out-and-out fascism during Bush's tenure. Drift? Did I say drift? It has been more like an avalanche that has caught Democrats flat-footed. Of course you would never know that if you get your political news and "insights" from a mainstream media that's little more than a transcription service for the Bush Ministry of Propaganda (thank you, Steven Colbert). 

But as I indicated, the paramount issue is the next Supreme Court appointment. That is why the Democrats must win. That is why what the Clintons are doing is tantamount to treason against their own base and the future of democracy in the U.S.

I maintain that this is probably our last chance to save America from the fascistic alliance of neocons, corporatists, racists, and the religious right. The latter are the most extreme bat-shit-crazy collection of contemptible anti-democracy reality-denying end-times fanatical theocratic holy-roller screaming maniacal ignoramuses in the history of the republic. Or something like that. From all I know about them they just can't wait to reinterpret the Constitution to make it compatible with their infantile ideas of "God's Law," as Reverend Huckabee reminded us a few weeks ago. They are poised, with the help of the next Republican administration and just one more Supreme Court appointment, to take their wrecking ball to every essential freedom protected by the Constitution. That's the same Constitution Bush contemptuously referred to as "just a goddamned piece of paper." Now we see Saint John McCain, the "maverick," the darling of the mainstream media, actively sucking up to these religious lunatics. Straight-talking maverick John McCain -- the walking, talking oxymoron. (Sometimes, like last week with his Iran-Al Quaida linkage, he sounds more like a plain moron.) Just wait until McCain gets to appoint the next Supreme Court justice. Be ready to attend an approved church. And for bombs to rain down on Iran, if it's not a fait accompli by then. Enough of that, we'll have plenty of time to talk about it in the camp.

I don't think McCain is racist, but I doubt he'll repudiate them the way he once spoke out against "agents of intolerance" back in the straight-talking days. 

Meanwhile, following the lead of the political traitor, crazy Joe Lieberman, the Clintons can be found hobnobbing and collaborating with the likes of Rupert Murdoch and Richard Mellon Scaife, the latter being the archest of conservatives, the very man who bankrolled the "Arkansas Project," the leader of what Hillary once accurately called "the vast, right-wing conspiracy." And Bill Clinton appears on Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing intellectual who has been advising Republicans to cross over and vote for Hillary in the Democratic primaries. And the Clinton campaign feeds scurrilous anti-Obama material to none other than Matt Drudge. What am I forgetting? 

Well, there are accusations circulating that the Clintons withheld support for John Kerry because they wanted Bush to win to increase their chances of getting elected this year. 

The damage being done by the Clinton campaign is a knife in the back of the Democratic Party. As a commenter on one of the internet political blogs recently put it, "Party leaders, euthanize now!" 

So there you have it, the Apostate rant to end all rants. Oh, were it only so! 

Actually, the end of Apostate rants is closer than you might think. I am really sick of all this political garbage. The only thing that keeps me hanging around is that the stakes are far too high to tune out just now. 

Like I said a few emails back, the U.S. is embroiled in an uncompromising culture war that far exceeds what we usually think of as politics. The two sides are too far apart on far too many fundamental issues. There are two Americas, each anathema to the other. I do not foresee in my lifetime a peaceful resolution or even a truce. A while back I entertained the slim hope that Obama might help calm things down, but that hope has been dashed. 

I'm attaching the two articles that prompted my intemperate rant. There's a lot more out there if you're interested in pursuing it. 

Whew, I'm exhausted. It might be a long time before you hear from me again.

Obama's NEW Kind of Politics = FAIRYTALES 

FAIRYTALE #1 - He will usher in a new kind of politics, get past the politics of division; "a uniter not a divider”.... uh huh, yeah riiiiigt... but ... in the real world, as the Right Wing Repub Smear Machine has already begun to demonstrate it takes TWO to tango and the Right Wing Repubs are going to be just as negative and nasty to him as they have been to the Clintons all these years.  

Ok.... WHERE IS IT?  I haven't seen him DO any kind of "NEW" Politics.  All he's done is the same old negative campaigning, name-calling, and personal attacks.... AFTER.... FIRST... proclaiming he wouldn't do negative campaigning.... and bragging about being.... better than that, above it all.  He's continued with the same ol dirty politics ever since .... while periodically PROCLAIMING that he's not doing dirty politics ... and bragging that he's above it all. 

"New Kind of Politics" = NON -ISSUE.  DISMISSED. 

FAIRYTALE #2: It’s about JUDGMENT (& His Judgment is best): "Hillary voted to INVADE Iraq".  "She was in favor of the war". .... uh, Noooo, she voted to use MILITARY FORCE, if necessary, to find out if Saddam had WMD's, or Not.  Quoting Obama:  "I don't know how I would have voted if I had been in the Senate." 

Welllll.... IF it was a Vote to INVADE Iraq ... and ... he was opposed to invading Iraq ... how come... he doesn't know how he would have voted? 

Answer:  Because HE KNOWS it WAS NOT a Vote to Invade Iraq.  Having said that he doesn't know how he would have voted -THAT- should have been the END of that: NOT Entitled to Criticize Clinton for her Vote.  He is using the very same negative distortion and smear campaigning that he so hypocritically denounces. 

"HIS JUDGMENT is best = NON-Issue.  DISMISSED. 

FAIRYTALE #3:  "I'm not the black candidate".  Yes.  He is the black candidate.  He MADE HIMSELF the black candidate WHEN he FALSELY (& ridiculously) accused the Clintons of racism - in order to win the South Carolina Primary.  He CONTINUED to make himself the black candidate by making MORE false accusations of racism ... every time ... he got behind in the polls.   

RACISM= NON-ISSUE. DISMISSED. 

FAIRYTALE #4:  Clinton is the Establishment Candidate.  Clinton is in league with the Big Corporations that have too much control over our government. 

Clinton voted AGAINST the Dick Cheney Energy Bill of 2005 (H.R.6).  Obama voted FOR it.  GE (2nd Largest Corporation on earth), Excelon Corp of Illinois, Entergy, along with 3 consortiums of other corporations - want to build 29 new nuclear power plants.   

For the past 30 years the banks would not loan them money to build nukes - too risky....until The Cheney Energy Bill ENABLED them to proceed with their plans ... by Guaranteeing TAXPAYER PAYBACK of any of the nuke loans that go into default.  (With the Risk of Default Rated by the Congressional Budget Office at 50% or greater.) 

P.S. the BOP-N (the "boppin" B.arack O.bama P.ropaganda N.etworks)-(Formerly known as NBC/MSNBC) ... are owned by GE ... just in case you were wondering WHY MSNBC/NBC were transformed (last fall) into foaming at the mouth rabid Obama PUSHERS.   

OBAMA = The Establishment Candidate. 

FAIRYTALE #5:  It’s about the future, turn the page.  Nope.  It’s about TURNING THE PAGE ...BACK... to the PAST building CENTRALIZED Monopoly Nuke Power Plants - with thousands of tons more nuke waste; with all existing nuke waste dumps CLOSED; nuke waste stored ONSITE providing terrorists with DIRTY BOMB nuke TARGETS all over the country .... instead OF Proceeding to the FUTURE with CLEAN, Renewable, DE-Centralized, CHEAPER Energy.  

FAIRYTALE #6:  Better Foreign Policy: Electing Obama will "send a message" to the rest of the world  ... enhancing America's "image"  ... as a new kind of country ... ready to get along ... and do things differently. 

Wanna put the rest of the world on notice that U.S. Foreign Policy will very likely be just as insane, or insaner, than Bush/Cheney's ... and ... put Russia on an even more nervous HAIR TRIGGER than they are now. .... just elect Obama and that's what would happen ....Because .... Zbigniew Brezinski is an Obama Foreign Policy Advisor. 

Zbig used Billions of $$ and the CIA to gin up a War in Afghanistan between the Russians and the Taliban/Al Queda (because he rabidly hates Russia). He CREATED the Taliban/Al Queda/ JIHAD Muslim TERRORIST "movement".  He supported Pol Pot ... who massacred MILLIONS of innocent Cambodian Villagers.  Asked if he had any REGRETS about creating the JIHADI'S, or supporting Pol Pot; given the benefit of hindsight does he wish he would he have done anything differently.   Zbig's answers:  No.  No Regrets.  Wish he'd done anything differently?  No, he's satisfied with the results. 

Elect a man President on the basis of such FAIRYTALES --- NIGHTMARES are likely to follow.
