EQUALIBERIUM
Bush is enjoying a bit of a bounce in August, up about 1.58% since July. TPJ’s monthly average of all polls is now holding steady at 32%.
TPJ subscribes to the theory of several pollsters that Bush’s bounce represents a band of Republicans who “returned to the fold” following the collapse of Bush’s push for immigration reform that was largely unpopular among most Republicans. In our estimation, the bounce will remain rather limited as Bush is not currently regaining ground among Independents or Democrats to any significant degree.
