REDUNDANT
Just one new poll released among the publicly released polls that TPJ follows. The Newsweek poll comes in at 29% approval and 63% approval. Bush’s approval rating is +3% from Newsweek’s July poll and it is very consistent with TPJ’s average of all polls for July.
In TPJ’s estimation, Bush’s average August approval rating in August will remain above 30%, probably in the neighborhood of 31% to 33%. We reiterate what has been apparent for months. Bush’s support is largely confined to his Republican political base. As long as that remains a fact, anticipate that Bush’s polling numbers will remain rather redundant.
